Learning about logos
In this activity we used: a) cards picturing products we buy in a supermarket and b) matching cards presenting only their logos. We started out by recognising and naming the products on the cards. Students shared their experience about them (they were easy to find common products, often used in their homes). Children carefully observed and then matched the products to their written logos cards, making groups that fitted. Through the activity they enriched their ideas about print and understood what a logo on a product is. They also practiced sorting, observation and letter identification skills.
