Parade of State Floats
We were learning the unique things about the United States and how each state has resources and places to visit of historical or natural interest. At the end of the unit, each child chose a state and had a list of items to include on a cereal box sized float. They needed to include the capital, resources, places of interest, flag, nickname, what region it is in, famous people that lived in the state, the shape of the state, and any other interesting facts. They researched their state first and then collected items from home to design their float. We displayed them for other classes to see and learn about our beautiful land. This was done with a fifth grade class.
