Activity 2: Spell & Circle the Word
LO1: Learners will be able to name the letters of the alphabet which are presented in sequential and non-sequential orders.
Learners are expected to recognise both the uppercase and lowercase forms of the letters.
Activity: I have Who has
You can write the letters the children need to review the most.
Play a game of I Have Who Has but children should sound out the letters and not name the letters in order to review phonics.
LO 2: Learners will be able to circle or write down simple words which are spelt clearly and slowly with letter names.
Spell & Circle the Word
Teacher spells the word slowly using letter names
(e.g. “H – E – N”).
Learners listen and:
circle the correct word
or write the word (depending on level)
Learners say the word together after checking.
