Remembrance Day Activity
Remembrance Day Wreath activity.
We used egg carton to make the poppy flowers. Each student painted two poppy flowers and then we used carton board to make the wreath where we put the poppy flowers on. I read the book: A poppy is to remember. Then discusses how important to show respect and appreciations to our veterans who protected our country and sacrificed their lives for that. We also talked that we stand for two minutes while being quite and respectful on November 11th at 11:00 a.m. The next day, we used gyms and green popsicle sticks to make poppies. We used this activities to talk about the different parts of a plant. Students were so creative and made so many beautiful poppies. We also worked on creating our poppy paintings using red tissue papers and construction papers. When the poppies were done we displayed them in the hallway and hanged our wreath on the door for a couple of days.
