Snack-Sorting Activity for Kids
At Wood City Preschool they made snack-time fun and educational by introducing sorting games into their snack routines! Kids sorted snacks by numbers and colors then ate them!
Materials Needed for the Snack-Sorting Activity
To do this snack-sorting activity you will need:
- A small snack (if you are sorting by color make sure it has various colors)
- A muffin tin
- Cupcake liners
- A non-toxic marker
How to Do the Snack-Sorting Activity
- Take your cupcake liners and using a non-toxic marker (because the food will touch the writing) write a number or color on each liner.
- Place the cupcake liners in the muffin tin.
- Give your child the snack and direct them to put the correct number of snacks in each liner or to match the colors of snacks in the liner if you are having them sort by color instead of counting.
- Once everything has been sorted your child can eat the snack!
