Spelling With Nature Craft Activity
At First Presbyterian Preschool in Charleston, West Virginia, they created this fun activity which helps develop fine motor skills as well as letter recognition and grows an appreciation for nature in little ones.
Kids use pieces of objects found in nature to spell their name and the results are gorgeous!
Items Needed For This Activity
To do this activity you will need:
- Cardboard or thick paper stock
- Double-sided tape
- Items from nature such as flowers, leaves, grass, and so forth
How to do the Spelling With Nature Craft Activity
The steps for this craft activity are as such:
First, spell your child's name out on the piece of cardboard/heavy paper stock using the double-sided tape.
Have your kid/kids go outside and pick, pluck, or pull items from nature.
Have your child sort all the things they picked and begin using them to cover the tape.
Talk about each letter of their name as they put items from nature over them.
Once the tape is fully covered and the letters are apparent your craft project is done.
You can now display your creation for the whole family to see and enjoy looking at!
