Two Fine Motor Skill Activities for Toddlers
At Kids Korner Preschool they love doing fun and educational centers. Two of their recent centers had fine motor skill activities that were stellar for toddlers and so much fun!
Beaded beards
For this activity, the teachers took a paper plate, use a hole punch to make holes for string, and then put the string through the holes and drew a face on the plate so that it looked like the string was a beard! Then, students were able to take beads and practice trying to loop them onto the beard with their finger-pinch.
Building with magnetic tiles
Magnetic tiles are wonderful for toddlers as they are astounded by the effects of the magnets and how it makes the tiles they are playing with, "Stick," together. Having toddlers practice trying to build shapes and even little houses out of magnetic tiles is another great fine motor activity!
