Counting unit and identifying the numbers it is important for kids, they should identify the number, the word, the graphic form for each one. Here are some activities to use in class (a worksheet where students should count a paint the catterpillar body, matching using puzzle and listening teacher instructions and using balloons with dots on it)

Counting is one of the important early number sense skills that students learn and use to find out “How Many?” Knowing how to count to 10 is memorization and is an abstract concept. A more concrete measure is to apply their understanding of 5 by counting and using 1-1 correspondence
