Valentine's Post Office
In our classroom, we have a dramatic play area that changes themes and set-ups every month that oftentimes have a holiday theme. In February, we had a Valentine's themed Post Office. Students could write valentines to their classmates and send them in the mailbox. They could also dress up as a mail carrier to help deliver the mail. We left out picture cards with all the students' names on them so they could write notes to their friends. At our writing center, we also had picture cards with the names of adults around campus that students could write Valentine notes or draw pictures to. We taught them how to write a name on and stamp an envelope.
