Volcano Experiment

My special education class and I sang a song about volcanos, read a book, and watched some informational videos with footage of real eruptions. We looked at a map and talked about where volcanoes are locate around the world. We also reviewed vocab words related to volcanoes and related the volcano concept to the concept of mountains. From there we did an experiment as small group activity. We did the classic baking soda and vinegar experiment, highlighting the words volcano, up, out, erupt, lava, and magma. For the volcano, we used a premade plastic volcano made just for tis experiment. It was available for check out through a my district library, as well as thee volcano books.
