Community Helpers Sorting Mats

These free community helper sort and classify mats are so much fun for kids learning about people who help us!

Sort and Classify Mats

These free printables can be used to make mats where students sort and classify the tools and images associated with specific people who help us!

They are great for preschool, PreK and Kindergarten students who are learning about Doctors, Police Officer, and Firefighters.

By matching the pictured things with the job they are associated with students will be able to learn and remember how a firefighter uses a fire extinguisher, a doctor would have a thermometer, and a police officer would have handcuffs (and so forth).

Community Helpers Matching Game

By understanding what goes with the people who help us the students will have a better idea of what to associate with each helper and be knowledgeable in what makes sense with each person. For an extra challenge you can hold a picture up and ask your students about the image--for example, "Does a doctor use a water bucket or a firefighter?"
