A little bit about me and the world I live in
I graduated from GSU in 1994 with a BS in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten before I decided to stay home with my 3 children for about 10 years. My children's names and ages are: Daylan- 28- is a travel nurse in cardiac cath labs across the country, Corey-24- is a Biology Major Graduate from Gardner-Webb University. He is now attending GWU's PA school, and Chloe-22-is a graduate from GSU. She is a first year teacher at Sandhill Elementary, and will be teaching 2nd grade. I love the outdoors and gardening. My family is big on water sports, football, baseball, and softball. Go Stangs & Running Bulldogs! We also love the beach and hanging out at the lake house. I love children. I taught Pre-K for four years and now am beginning my 13th year teaching second grade. Our class has a family environment. I truly love each individual child. I love seeing my students being successful in whatever they may try. We have a saying in our class, "Can't never could." I believe that all children develop at their own individual rate. We keep it fun and real in our class. We 'cut loose' on things that are not in our lesson plans if the students show an extreme interest in a particular topic.
My objective is to help nuture and assist the students with meeting their full potential academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. I promise you that I will do my best for your child. I also know that you are your child's first teacher. That being said, us working together will help your child be extremely successful! I am extremely blessed to be teaching at this school! I am looking forward to another successful year!
