Arizona Cactus Handprint - Where I live theme
For the Where I live theme. State of Arizona
Directions:
Take a print out of the map of the state of Arizona, can print on colored paper if desired.
Then have each student make a handprint in paint (for this example we used green paint) in the approximate area of the state where the student lives. Our kids live in Phoenix.
They can then decorated the handprint as a cactus, adding cactus spines and flowers. And color any other state related items as desired.
This shows the kids where they live and has a state appropriate theme.
This can be adapted for different states using the corresponding state map, and "handprint" art that would be a good representation of the state.
The kids enjoyed decorating their state maps, some added drawings of their families on the map, others drew pictures of other state related items, such as the sun.
