Bat Art Lesson- Lesson Plan and example of a blended color art lesson aligned with a bat lesson in science
Students will learn: Students will be able to have a discussion on bats and explore background knowledge. Students will then be able to follow a series of instructions to create an art piece with the silhouette of bats. Students will also be introduced to primary colors and how they will create a new color when mixed.
• Students will be able to explain what a bat is and basic facts about the animal. Students will be able to show an art piece that represents the absence of space and the mixture of colors
• Students will need to be able to sit and raise their hand in a group discussion. Students will need to be able to follow a series of instructions. They will also need to be able to write their name and be able to properly hold a paint brush.
• Students will be able to share one fact about bats, after having a BK discussion of bats.
• The completed art piece will show that students followed instructions to paint so that they show the absence of the bat image when they are complete. They will also be able to see in their artwork two colors that come together to create a third.
• Students love to paint and create. I will present visuals about bats that are engaging and an example of the artwork we will be doing in class.
