Black History Month Decoration Ideas
February is Black History Month. In honor of this important month, they made some incredible classroom decorations at The Goddard School (North Brunswick! The one seen above made out of construction paper is fantastic, and other stellar decorations could be seen throughout the school too.
Black history hearts
The kids helped make hearts with the names of black history pioneers that were then put-up for all to admire. Individuals such as Harriet Tubman (who helped free slaves, Jackie Robinson (the first integrated black baseball player, Barack Obama (the first black President) and Kamala Harris (the first black, Asian, and female Vice-President) were all honored among many other important people!
Choosing friends
This piece of decor said how we should choose friends by their character and socks by our color. It emphasizes how we should value people regardless of their race if they are simply good people!
Sign language hands
Hands of different races all signed about love and made hearts. These decorations were beautiful!
