Butterfly symmetry
I used my cutting machine to cut out butterflies. The children folded them in half and dotted 1 side with paint. Then they folded over the other half and we placed it in a large piece of wax paper. Once everything was folded over, the kids rubbed their hands over the folded half to squeeze out the paint. Then we opened up the butterfly and let it dry on the wax paper. We loved doing this craft. The children had to follow directions so they only got paint on 1 half of the paper. Then having to rub their hands to smooth out the paint was a motor skill that most of them were unsure of and then the end result was so cute! We also cut out black ovals to add for the bodies.
