Butterfly Headband Craft for Preschoolers
Kinsley Public Library recently shared an adorable butterfly-themed craft idea on their Facebook page that is perfect for preschoolers: "The library's morning and afternoon story hour at USD 347 was all about butterflies, and the children had a blast making their own butterfly wings to fly around the room".
To extend the fun and learning at home or in the classroom, we suggest making a butterfly headband using the free printable of wings from TeachersMag.com.
Butterfly Headband Craft
Here's what you'll need to make the butterfly headband:
1. Wings printable
2. Black strip of thick paper for headband
3. Crayons
4. Glue
Follow these simple steps to make your butterfly headband:
Download the wings template.
Encourage the children to use bright colors to color the wings with crayons. Remind them to color symmetrically.
Once the wings are colored, help the children glue them to the paper headband on both sides.
Voila! Your butterfly headband is now ready.
This craft activity not only helps children develop their creativity, but it also provides a great opportunity to teach them about symmetry and the life cycle of butterflies. As Kinsley Public Library's post suggests, this butterfly-themed spring craft is sure to bring a smile to any preschooler's face.
