At Compass Montessori School, they discussed the upcoming Chinese new year and crafted pandas out of construction paper to celebrate the event!
Chinese new year
The official start of the Chinese new year will be February 1st, 2022 this year. This will be the year of the tiger and students talked about wanting to make tigers for a craft too! However, this time the children made pandas, a very popular and beloved creature that lives in China.
How the pandas were made
The kiddos created pandas by taking large pieces of red construction paper and spreading white paint as well as gluing black pieces of construction paper to create the body of their pandas! The students were excited to create their own pandas and each one looked beautiful and unique. Happy Chinese new year!
