Colourful Carnations
We did a special theme on Flowers and introduced the theme with the book Planting a Rainbow.
We turned white carnations into red, blue and yellow ones through this simple science experiment on osmosis. Children were fascinated with the color changes. For the 3 and 4 year olds, we explained that plants need water to drink, and these carnations turned from white to the color of the water they drank!
We showed them different kinds of flowers, and the children even make beautiful floral arrangements and did some simple flower pressing to make a special book mark for themselves
