community helpers
We are studying jobs in first grade guidance class. Student drew pictures of what they wanted to be when they grew up. Student watched videos of varies jobs. They created a paper doll of community helpers. They played with partners to with their paper dolls. They wrote words to tell how they would feel to do the job of a fire fighter, doctor, police officer, and teacher. They shared their feeling with the entire class. They taped up their pictures on the walls of my classroom. They had their picture taken next to their picture of what they wanted to be when they grew up and it was printed and given to them to take home.
