Coordination-Focused Hopscotch Game
Kids love playing hopscotch and at BrightPath Kids they thought-up a unique version that involved using both hands and feet! Doing this coordination-focused hopscotch game was great for their little ones who are still getting the hang of jumping and crouching.
How to do coordination-focused hopscotch
To play a game of coordination hopscotch the only materials you will need are chalk and a sidewalk/blacktop/area you can draw chalk on. Once you have that, follow these steps:
1. Draw spots for feet and hands along a line. You can make as many or as few as you want.
2. Discuss with the children how they do this unique version of hopscotch by jumping and then after they jump, crouching down and putting their hands in the handprint spots for each line as they go.
3. Have the children start playing this coordination-focused game of hopscotch and offer reassurance as needed if they have any trouble/congratulate them if they do well.
4. You can encourage the kids to make their own unique hopscotch lines with the chalk too and challenge each other to do their hopscotch courses!
