Dice Game Activity
This game is designed based on the popular Korean board game "Cookie Box." In this game, students have to place their items in a square in the same order as seen on the playing card.
Teachers print and laminate the playing card grid. Students cut the grid into game pieces.
To help students prepare for gameplay, I have included a fill-in-the-blank spelling page as well as a listening comprehension numbering page, and a back-and-forth speaking page.
These inclusions turn a "game" into a full lesson that engages all four language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
The vocabulary in this activity includes pronouns, colors, family members, simple verbs, feelings, things at school, animals, transportation, and places. These vocabulary words are the basic building block need to take students from one-word utterances to complete sentences to compound sentences.
