Dental Health Activity With Dice and Marshmallows
At Jack & Jill Preschool and Day Care Center in Wynantskill, New York they had a week dedicated to D and its lowercase version, d. To kick-off this exciting week they talked about a word that starts with the letter D--dental health!
The students had a great time learning about healthy dental practices via a game involving a, "Mouth," made out of construction paper, dice, and some marshmallows!
Fun with Dice and Marshmallows
Students were given a, "Mouth" that was made out of construction paper and had circles inside where its teeth would need to go. They then were given marshmallows which were going to be the, "Teeth," for the activity. All the kids took turns rolling dice. Whatever number they rolled they put that number of marshmallows into the mouth in the circles (e.g. if they rolled a, "3," they put that number of marshmallows in spots). The students kept rolling until every mouth was filled and then the activity was done! It was a stellar way to work on counting skills and learn about dental health!
