Early years provision
During our far far away theme we created a jungle small world using animal figures and different natural resources. We also surrounded the area with different resources to give the children opportunity to add to the small world and create their own story lines. The children accessed the small world whilst in free flow but it was also used during cross curricular focus activities including maths, literacy and geography.
We change this area with every theme we start. For example during the previous theme of splish splash splosh we created an under the sea theme and added sea creatures, aquarium rocks and mermaids which captured a lot of the children's interest. This area of provision is always extremely popular within the unit and you get a lot of language and creativity coming from the area.
