I Can Read Holiday Program
Today marked the final day of the Holiday Program, and what a meaningful and rewarding experience it has been for both the teachers and the students. Over the past few days, our classrooms have been filled with laughter, learning, and enthusiastic participation from all the children involved. The Holiday Program was specially designed to provide young learners with an immersive educational experience, focusing not only on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) but also on developing key Literacy skills in a fun and engaging way.
Throughout the program, students took part in a wide range of activities that helped build their confidence in using English. They practiced speaking through games and role-play, improved their listening skills through storytelling and interactive videos, and enhanced their reading and writing abilities with various creative tasks. Many of our younger students, especially those in the early literacy stages, made noticeable progress in phonics, blending sounds, and even recognizing sight words. Older students enjoyed more structured reading comprehension tasks and vocabulary-building exercises, showing greater fluency and comprehension with each passing day.
What made the program particularly special was the strong sense of community and support that developed among the students and their teachers. Even though the program was only a few days long, many of the children formed meaningful connections with their peers and expressed excitement about coming to class each day. Our teachers worked tirelessly to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where students felt safe to express themselves, ask questions, and take risks in using a new language.
On this final day, we celebrated the students’ efforts and achievements with a special classroom ceremony. Each student received a thoughtful gift as a token of appreciation for their hard work and enthusiasm. These small surprises brought huge smiles to their faces and made the conclusion of the program feel like a true celebration. Teachers also took time to give verbal praise and encouragement, highlighting each student’s unique progress and positive attitude during the program.
Parents were invited to observe the final part of the day, and many expressed their appreciation for the program and the positive impact it had on their children. Several mentioned how their kids were excited to share what they had learned at home—singing English songs, pointing out new words, and even trying to speak in full sentences in English. It was incredibly heartwarming to see the pride in the children’s faces as they showcased what they had learned.
In closing, the Holiday Program was not just about teaching English and Literacy—it was about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a love for learning in every student. We are incredibly proud of all the students who joined us, and we thank the parents for their trust and support. Although the program has come to an end, we hope the lessons learned and memories made will continue to inspire the children as they continue their educational journey.
We look forward to welcoming many of them back to our regular classes, and until then, we wish all our students a happy holiday and continued success in everything they do.
