Land and Water Plants
Set Up: Place the two sheets of paper on the floor. Label one sheet "Water Plants" and the other "Land Plants" using simple pictures or symbols (e.g., a drawing of water for the water plants sheet).
Introduce the Concept: Explain to the students that some plants live in water and some plants live on land. Use simple language and visuals to illustrate the difference.
Guided Sorting: Show students a picture of a water plant (e.g., a water lily). Ask, "Where does this plant live?" Guide them to place the picture on the "Water Plants" sheet. Repeat with a picture of a land plant (e.g., a tree).
Independent Sorting: Provide each student with a set of picture cards. Encourage them to independently sort the plants into the "Water Plants" and "Land Plants" categories.
Class Discussion: After the sorting activity, have students share their observations. Ask questions like, "Why did you put this plant in the water plants group?" This encourages critical thinking and verbal expression.
