Magnet Exploration in Pre-K class. Two day activity
Our class was learning about magnets. We read a few books about magnets and watched a "Brain Pop Jr." about magnets. Each child was able to walk around the classroom and pick one item to test if it was magnetic. They then brought back their items to their tables and students at tables all tested each others activities. They then walked around the room testing items. They were excited to see how many items in the class were magnetic. Such things as parts of the wall, kitchen toys, our door, etc. They also noticed that some items had parts of it that were both magnetic and not magnetic. The next day they were given specific items and completed a worksheet (from teachers pay teachers)asking if items were or were not magnetic. They had a great time and now use the magnets during their free time.
