No Mess Painting Fall Leaves
This week we were discussing fall leaves and how they change colors. The students watched a video that explains how leaves change.
I gave the students a mess free way to paint to display their love of Fall colors.
Students were given a choice of three colors to put into their plastic bag. I zipped the baggies closed, tape the 4 corners to the table and placed the leaf template on top of the bag. Once the template was taped down, students were encouraged to finger paint their fall leaf.
The students had to use their fingers to fill in the area of the leaf, while mixing the Fall colors. The leaf and bag were taped together to display in the classroom on our work wall.
This activity allowed the students to explore the colors of the leaves; the physical change of mixing colors and using a sensory approach to painting. For Me: No mess! They loved it and so did I. They loved it and so did I.
