Leprucans are beloved mythical creatures and in honor of their pots of gold at the end of a rainbow, Promises Childcare Center did this fun craft! This rainbow and pot of gold craft can be done around St. Patrick's Day, as part of a unit on mythical creatures, or anytime you are discussing the weather and rainbows!
Materials Needed for the Rainbow and Pot of Gold Craft
To do this craft you will need:
One piece of construction paper for each color of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet/purple) or at least some of the more popular colors, you don't have to have them all
A piece of construction paper for mounting (any color can work, but white is best)
Cotton balls
Black construction paper
Gold glitter or some kind of decorative gold items
Scissors
Glue
How to do the Rainbow and Pot of Gold Craft
To do this craft follow these steps:
Cut a piece out of the black construction paper that looks a bit like a round pot.
Cut a circular piece of colorful construction paper from each of the rainbow construction paper sheets
Glue the pot to what will be the bottom of your image.
Glue the gold glitter/decorative gold items to the top of your pot--it looks like gold!
Glue the cotton balls to the top of your image (they are clouds).
Glue each circular rainbow color from the clouds to your pot of gold.
