Star Fish craft from ocean week
This is a glue and salt starfish craft we did in my Pre-K classroom over the summer. The texture of the craft gave the illusion of an actual starfish due to the rough texture of the salt and glue.
What you will need:
Salt
Glue
Thick paper (salt makes this craft a little heavy)
watercolor paints
paint brushes
sharpie marker
small paper bowls
Directions:
Draw a large star on the construction paper and let the kids trace it with the glue. Next fill a small paper bowl with salt and let them sprinkle the salt on the glue star. Let the glue and salt dry on the paper. When the paper is dry, mix together the watercolor paints and let them drop the watercolor paints onto the paper with the paint brushes. Let dry and then cut them out! The result is an amazing realistic feeling starfish! My children had a blast doing this craft and i will be implementing this craft into my ocean week every year.
