Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Matching With Paper Apples
At Mzz Mary's House Daycare, they created a fun way to learn how to match uppercase and lowercase letters. They made pieces of paper apples with different colors, laminated them, and cut them in half with uppercase letters on one side and lowercase on the other! Then children matched the correct letters and apples. You can easily make your own paper fruits as well to do this activity.
Materials needed to make paper apples
To create your own paper apples for students to use you will need the following:
*Print-outs of various apples in different colors--red, yellow, and green
*Scissors
*Laminator
*Black maker
How to make the paper apples
Follow these steps to make the paper apples students will use:
1. Print-out your colorful apples.
2.Use your black marker to write an uppercase version of a letter on the left and a lowercase version on the right of the fruit (such as B on the left and b on the right).
3. Laminate your apple print-outs with the letters written on them.
4. Cut each apple in half so the uppercase and lowercase letters are separate.
5. Give the apples to your students to do matching with!
