Weighting animals
With our 5-year old children, we did a project a bout the veterinarian. In the class we made a veterinary practice. The preschoolers could weigh the animals using these activity cards. They used a balance and woorden blocks. On the activity cards, they could indicate what weighs the most or the least.
I printed the cards and laminated them afterwards. The children used whiteboard markers to indicate what weighs the most or the least.
On the cards, we used illustrations of different animals: dog, horse, rabbit,. You can use plastic toy animals or plush toys to do this activity. The result will be different. This can be an interesting way to explore weight with the children.
