Arctic Animals - emperor penguins and blue fairy penguins
For our arctic animal unit, I created life-sized drawings of an emperor penguin and a blue fairy penguin. I had all of the children stand next to them and see if they could make themselves as small as the fairy penguin or as tall as the emperor penguin. We also talked about where these animals live and all of the kinds of penguins that are around our world. We also talked about adaptation, which included talking about animals that change color during winter so they can blend in better with their surroundings.
