Art: Paper Tearing Activity
This simple, fun, and engaging activity may look ordinary to others, but it is extremely beneficial to the young ones as this will help them improve their fine motor skills. In addition to this, this activity will not cost a lot. The materials needed are only construction papers, printed black and white template of desired objects, glue, and the hands of your pupils.
In one classroom setting, I asked my pupils to tear construction papers so they could make something with it later in our class. In this setting, the pupils filled an orange fruit template with torn orange construction papers. In another classroom setting, the pupils also made a tail of a fish using their torn papers.
There are only two observable results to this activity amongst all of my pupils:
1. They were able to own the concepts I discussed in class because of the experience they did with paper tearing and art, and
2. they are very proud of their outputs.
