Creating Apple Volcanoes!
At TLC Schools Childcare & Preschool they did the classic volcano-making craft of combining baking soda and vinegar. To make it easier for children so they didn't have to make a paper mache volcano or anything, however, the class used cored apples to create the impressive explosions! You can easily do this in your class too--but remember--do not eat the apples!
Materials needed for this craft
To do this craft you will need the following:
*Apple
*Apple corer
*Baking soda
*Vinegar
*A bowl
How to make the apple volcano
Follow these steps to make your apple volcano:
1. Make a big hole in the apple with the corer so that it is about half-cored.
2. Put the cored apple in the bowl.
3. Pour baking soda in the apple.
4. Carefully add drops of vinegar and watch as the volcano erupts and the liquid spills out and fills the bowl.
5. Once you're done, throw everything away.
