Doing Self-Portraits in the Style of Picasso
Pablo Picasso lived from 1881-1973. He was famous for creating a variety of artworks including his portraits. Known for engaging in art styles considered cubist and surrealist, Picasso made a number of self-portraits in his abstract and amazing styles. At Tots Learning Center & Child Care, they learned about Picasso and then made their own self-portraits in a surrealist and cubist style!
Painting like Picasso
The children were excited to make a self-portrait that, "Looked," like them but also kind of did not due to how they would make it much more abstract than a usual self-portrait generally is. They made individual colorful little square areas and otherwise created some neat works inspired by Picasso. It was a very creative activity!
