Drawing your family tree and talking about where we get our features
Had the children draw pictures of the people living in their house on different color apples (circles) we used red, green and yellow the had them glue them to their family tree. We talked about who each person is and talked about different characteristics of the people in the family We chose to do the activity in pencil. We then talked about whos tall, short, what color eyes, hair and different Characteristics of their family and who else has some of the same hair color, eye color etc as the do. They children then started talking about other family members, grand parents, aunt, uncles cousins that they look like and how it sometimes skips a generation and they may look more like a grandparent then a parent. The questions they had were endless. Some of the children wanted to add their pets so we allowed them to put them under the tree.
