Farm Animals Theme for Preschool: Vocabulary Words
If you are doing a farm-themed unit these vocabulary word cards are a great addition to your unit! You can use them on a bulletin board, within student journals, labeling a dramatic play center, or for a word-silo themed for sorting!
The Vocab Words:
Cat, chicken, chick, calf, cow, duck, goose, goat, dog, horse, sheep, farmer, tractor, eggs, turkey, rooster, bull, hay, pig, barn.

Ways to Use the Word Cards
There are a number of ways to utilize these picture and word cards/or display them.
They can be used within a pocket chart pared with a writing center, upon a word wall or for making a picture dictionary.
These cards can also be used with a Pre-K, "Writer's Workshop." For example, you can place these cards upon a table that has some sheets of paper as well as markers. Then, it can be offered as an activity for children who are at the developmental/learning stage where they can copy words onto their paper. Many students should be excited to try this out!
The aforementioned pocket chart works well during a farm unit as well, and then later can be hooked onto a dictionary ring full of the pictures which has other thematic words added on during the year.
