Flowers are Growing Like Us
We are studying how things grow in the classroom. Each child measured a friend to see how tall they were with a measuring tape. They locked the tape and then they traced with a marker along the tape on green paper until they had enough lines to cut into strips to make the stems. They used scraps for the flowers using glue to attach the stems and flowers together as well as flower shop green tape. When we hung the flowers they commented on who is the tallest and shortest.
We used number words as we measured as well. We looked through books afterwards to see what else grows. To finalize the lesson we will be adding the life cycle of insects and animals on our wall.
