Oreos to the Moon

Oreos to the Moon
I wanted to find a way for my students to actively engage and remember the phases of the moon. What better way to do that than to use Oreos! Students pulled apart the Oreos and used the cream inside to form the moon phases. The best part of all…students got to eat the moons! Haahaa! They talked all day about how much fun they had doing this activity. I tied it in with our story Mr. Putter and Tabby Sees the Night Sky. As a teacher, you must find different ways to engage students. Gone are the days of standing in front of the board teaching a lesson. Now I make sure all engaging activities reach across different content. This activity can also be used for science.
