First, there is a set of eight flashcards that can be printed out and used to help children both identify the various Lunar phases and then put them in the proper order (New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent). Students can use both their reading skills and visual intuition to make sure the flashcards are ordered correctly!
This allows discussion of the differences between a new Moon, full Moon, and all the phases in-between! Kids are sure to love these space-themed printables and have a great time learning all about the Moon's phases!
