Pine Cone Painting Activity for Toddlers
When children are little they enjoy touching unique textures and engaging in using their fine motor skills so that they develop well. At Little Sunshine's Playhouse & Preschool, they wanted the kids to enjoy touching textures and working on their fine motor skills so they gave them pine cones to paint!
Making the pine cones beautiful
Pine cones are a fantastic piece of decor that can fit any season depending on the colors you paint them. You can use red and green for Christmas; you can try red, pink, and white for Valentine's Day; it is fun to use orange and green for Saint Patrick's Day--there are so many possibilities! The children had a fun time taking their paintbrushes and then using their fine motor skills to make the pine cones bright and beautiful colors. Touching the pine cones as they painted them provided some neat textures to feel as well. Once the kids were done and the paint had dried they had a fun craft to share with their families!
