Valentines Day theme - Sorting pompom hearts by color - Sensory activity
1. We drew 4 hearts, each a different color - we used Purple, Orange, Pink and Green, on a large ziploc or resealable bag.
2. We put a small amount of water (just enough to push the pompoms around) and pompoms (matching the 4 different colors) inside the ziploc bags and taped them to the table. You can use hair gel, liquid soap, water, oil, etc. inside your bags - we used water just in case it got opened somehow, since it would be the easiest to clean up.
3. The children then tried to match the pompoms to the hearts, moving them from the outside, by pushing on the ziploc. This was a challenge for some, while others managed to do this with little effort.
The older children (3+) had such a great time counting, matching and naming the colors, while the little ones just enjoyed pushing the balls around and ripping the bags/tape off the tables.
