Butterflies Around Me
A simple book-reading activity ignited my children's interests in butterflies!
We read the book "Butterfly, Butterfly" by Petr Horacek before my children's naptime. They were very amused with the colourful pop-up butterfly that showed up towards the end of the story and this made them look for butterflies outdoors.
The next day, before our nature walk, my children urged me to catch a butterfly and bring it to class. During our walk, we also talked about where these creatures live and what they eat. They had a close inspection of the creature when I placed it in a jar.
Back in class, I got the children to create their own 3D butterfly craft. I downloaded this template from krakotak.com or you can just draw your own.
