Learning About Which Bears Hibernate and Which Don't Hibernate
At U-GRO Learning Centres they learned all about bears this week! It was discussed how some bears go into caves/dens and hibernate, but other bears do not! With this in mind, different activities and crafts were done focused on these different types of bears.
Hibernation station
The kiddos learned that Black bears and Brown bears hibernate. They helped build a tent that then everyone pretended was the, "Hibernation Station," cave. The kids explored within the cave and imagined they were bears sleeping through the winter!
Polar bear painting
The children learned how Polar bears are a type of bear that does not ever hibernate. This was really interesting to hear! The kids then used white paint and plastic forks to paint their own polar bears they then showed-off to everyone once the paint dried. Bears are so neat!
