Name Decoration

Students were given large posters with their names written in large letters, and were allowed to decorate these in any way they wanted. After, we created a "final" draft of them on post-it chart paper with paint! Students worked on their first draft for about a week, deciding what pictures, words, and decorations they would like to add. They were allowed to work for a little bit each day, and weren't required to finish quickly. This gave students time to brainstorm, make mistakes, and change their ideas based on their progress. After finalizing their plan, they were given a poster with their name painted in bold black and their posters evolved a little more. We displayed them in the room and hallway for a couple of weeks, then students and parents were excited to get to take them home and share their work with others!
