Pre kindergarten Montessori Teacher here. We had camp out week this week! Imagine this...
Marshmallows on sticks and bring your sleeping bags for a thrill. I added a toddler sized rocking boat and played row, row, row your boat as the children rowed with mini brooms as ores. Then I played nature sounds on my speaker (water streams and birds chirping sounds, etc.) Told the children to close their eyes and imagine the outdoors at night. Then they jumped up when we went on a bear hunt while I played the well known man telling ithe action song on the speaker. "Going on a bear hunt. I'm not scared. Realistic fun! We made a log fire outside our tents to roast our real marshmallows! Held them over the tissue paper fire. This made a great snack. We used all our senses. The next day many of the children said, "I'm going real camping this weekend!" Parents children and myself were satisfied with our camping and clamping experience this week.
