Under the Sea
Paper plate sea creatures and dish brush pufferfish

We were learning about all the creatures under the sea. In one lesson we all divided up into groups. Each group chose a sea creature to focus on. Using paper plates, tissue paper and card we cut out shapes and constructed our chosen creatures. Then painted them and decorated them with googly eyes and sharpies.
For a second lesson we focused on the pufferfish. We used black card, yellow and white paint, a kitchen dish brush, paper and clear plastic(in this case a laminating sheet). Each child dipped their dish brush into white paint and made a basic round shape. Then dipped their brush into yellow paint and splattered another layer on to add some colour. This was then left to dry. Next each child drew and cut out eyes and a mouth for their fish from paper. We cut out fin shapes from clear plastic. Finally when the paint was dry we assembled a face and fins onto our fish. They loved the finished result
