Altered Paintings Craft For Young Children
At Creation Space, the kids made altered paintings and had a fantastic time doing so! They were given prints of various interesting and notable paintings which they then were allowed to paint on and over to make their own unique creations out of the original works. It was such a playful way for the children to have an element of high realism within a piece of artwork that they created themselves!
Materials needed to make altered paintings
To create your own altered paintings you will need the following:
*A print of a popular/notable painting that you can get messy.
*Paint--tempera or acrylic works well
*Large paper to catch any paint that may spill.
*Painters tape if you are painting with your print hung-up.
How to make your altered painting
To make your altered painting follow these steps:
1. Lay out your large piece of paper and put the print atop it/tape it on if you have your print hung-up.
2. Get your paint and paint on and over the print.
3. Make your own unique creation along with the print!
4. Wait for the paint to dry.
5. Show everyone your creation!
