Apple Pie Playdoah
This week our class made apple pie playdoh for our Johnny Appleseed week. The recipe is as follows: 2 cups flour, 1 cup cornstarch, 1 cup water, dash of cinnamon, and a drop of red food coloring. You knead the ingredients in and add it to the sensory table. Our class used the playdoh to create apples or round balls to add to playdoh mat tree. You can find a picture of a tree online and then place the picture into your laminator. I used Microsoft word to creat number cards. Each child received a number and then asked to roll that many balls( or apples) and place it on the tree. The class had a great time with this activity and I even added an additional science element to it. I asked them what they smelled, what did the playdoh feel like, and what color was the playdoh. We discussed that apples come in all different sizes and shapes. The children loved this activity so much that we did it again the next day!
